Mossman Gorge Guest Review

A Beautiful part of the world and so close to Port Douglas.

It is the entrance to the world heritage listed Daintree Forest.

There is a Cultural centre at the car park with souvenirs, a gallery of local indigenous art and a cafe. If you haven’t bought water with you get some here.

We took the shuttle bus up to the start of the walk ($14.50) and decided to do the self-guided walk. But there is also guided tours which are worthwhile if you have never been to this area before.

You walk along elevated platforms to the swimming area, just past that is the rainforest circuit walk that is 2.4Km. It is a fairly easy walk but there is quite a steady incline. I recommend walking shoes over thongs.

The rainforest walk is stunning so take your time to look up and around at the ancient plants and of course the size of the boulders.

The main swimming area is a welcome spot to be after your walk. wear something to swim in but you don’t need to bring a towel as you dry quickly up here.
